Earthquake deepens Myanmar’s humanitarian crisis

Jagat Patnaik, Head of Asia and Country Engagement at ActionAid International, said: “Thousands of lives have been lost, homes destroyed, and many communities remain cut off. People fled with nothing, no shelter, no belongings, only the hope of reaching safety.

Our work falls into four broad areas: women, politics and economics, land and climate, and emergencies. We have a particular focus on women’s rights; it’s a thread that runs through all our work.
